XRF analysis has been obtaining an increasingly widespread application. It is developed low-power, small volume XRF data processing system successfully by using the design idea of embed system in this paper. The system takes the embed ARM7 chip as the core of data processing and a SD card as data storage equipment. A 320×240 graphic LCD and theμC/OS-II operating system which has passed FAA certification are equipped for the system. It adopts the file system being compatible with windows system, and has designed Chinese window menu operating interface especially for XRF data analysis and implemented data communicating with PC by USB interface, which is more convenient for users.Our work comes from the "863 plans" - "The development of a seabed XRF probe analysis system". In the view of the studies, a series of improvements has been made as follows:(1) Taking the LPC2148 microprocessor as the core, we have developed the hardware and software for FPXRF data processing system, which is the substitution of traditional PC104 controlling machine, greatly reduced system power, volume and weight, the road to realizing the microminiaturization and integration design of high sensitivity FPXRF instrument was paved.(2) Our system provides analysis pattern of three excitation sources Pu, 241Am, and 55Fe.This expanded the element-range of analysis, containing the most geochemistry indicator elements.(3) Established the intellectualized, the humanized functions, such as "automatic energy calibration","automatic classification multi-parameters content evaluation model","alarm signals for abnormity","semiautomatically qualitative analysis", this makes positive effect for the FPXRF development.(4) It developed the on-line communication based on the USB interface, adopted huge storage SD Card as data storage equipment, which enhanced the functions of FPXRF instrument.The initial application of the system has completed the basic functions of XRF analysis instruments, indicates the system stable running, reliable performance and easy operation. This system will bring new development to the XRF analysis instrument field. It is more applicable and worth spreading.
