In recent years, with the traffic mileage of highways, vehicular traffic and the speed increasing steadily. The degree and the scope of interference are also widening and expanded because of road traffic noise pollution on normal life, work and study of residents along road. Road traffic noise pollution has gradually become the most concerned pollution problem to the residents. Thus, it becomes an important task for the world's automobile and tire industry to lower the noise.To control the road traffic noise, the most effective method to settle noise completely is set about from the noise source. Road traffic noise mainly results from the engine and the interaction of tire and road. With the constant development of the auto industry, the engine noise will gradually decrease. But with the speed of vehicles and vehicle load increased, exposure noise of tire and road becomes the main sources of road traffic noise. Reducing road traffic noise is mainly to reduce the noise caused by the interaction of tire and road.Firstly, the paper introduces the tire/road noise measurement and evaluation method. To control noise, noise must be first accurately measured so that powerful analytical basis can be provided for noise control. Tire/road noise control is no exception. Tire/road noise measurement is the important means and basis for tire/road noise control. To hold the extent of control, we need to evaluate.Secondly, from the generation mechanism, acoustic model and the simulation model of the tire pattern noise, the paper has systematically researched the tire pattern noise control , focusing on probing into the tire pattern noise and the mechanism of the model, and carried on simulation analysis. Simulation results verify the correctness of the model.Thirdly, the paper has discussed the generation mechanism, acoustic model and the simulation model of the road noise on the basis of the tire pattern noise, and carried out the simulation analysis. When the car runs over the speed of 70km/h, the interaction of tire and road surface is not only related with the noise of the tread pattern, but also the texture and surface structure of the road. Therefore the paper has discussed the source of the road and established a scientific and mathematical model, Making full use of VC, program has been writed for simulation analysis.The research results and procedures have strong engineering practicality. They provide a powerful and efficient method to reduce tire/road noise.
