In recent years, as the rapid development of economy in our country, the structure with compositive use of complex body and various functions is developed in tall building. The public lower part hopes that there is as big as possible free space, while the top part need small axis dimension which has to be assigned. In order to realize this kind of arrangement, a special storey must be set between the lower part and the top part in structure forms are different, witch can transmit the internal forces from the top part to the lower part reliably. This special storey is called Transition Storey.Box transition storey is a usually used transition storey. This dissertation focuses on researching the effect of earthquake-resistant behavior in short leg wall on the box transition storey. In combination of actual project—WuHan Shuiguohu Edifice, useing the finite Element software—ANSYS to create a modal of Short leg wall on the Box transition storey and play a nonlinear finite element analysis on it. Some conclusions can be drawn and some advices are given for designing this type of structure. Main ideas this paper will expound are as follows:1. Neatly introduce the conception,function and structure style of transition storey. A state-of-the-art on nonlinear finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structure is retrieved, and the constitutional relationship be adopted according to the intention of analysis.2. The short leg wall specimens are computed and analyzed based on the loading experiment, and some comparisons were done between results of experiment and computation. Nonlinear finite element analysis of the specimens under monotonic loading is performed. According to the analysis, the specimens's cloud of stress and hysteretic curve are shown to be good agree to the experimental result. In the former finite analysis of short leg wall, the finite model usually be the United Model. The Separated Model applicated in this article can obtain the position when steel yield and failure. This is a complement to the former study..3. In combination of actual project, create a small finite modal of partial structure composed of short leg walls and top floor of Transition Storey. Through the finite element computed of the model, some regularity when various force loading on the strcture can be discovered.
