The Study Of Campus Environmental Image

Numerous national universities were built continually since 90s last century. Meanwhile campus reconstruction happened often. It brought some latent worries in development of universities generally in our country, such as lack of a long-term and omni directional plan, neglect of users need in space plan. Those problems are worthy of further observation and study. Based on those, this paper investigated user image, analyzed the campus design, and put the result in order by reviewing some technical literature. It provided concrete reference materials for campus planers via my study.The classification of this study was according to five elements of Kevin Lynch s Urban Image, and aided with documents of campus planning. In order to operate the study subject to add and correct the elements, and then, seven campus image elements were set up. The results distinguished campus image into Buildings Landmark Path Edges Skyline Open Space Place and culture. The author also analyzed the statistical data to compare the campus image preference on the mind who were interviewed, and according to this, providing a priority resource when someone wants to construct campus image. We found that there was significant difference of image intensity on the mind among the interviewees. The important for campus image elements were Buildings Landmark Open Space and People Activities. The result was influenced deeply by stimulating from sight and scenery. Besides, large-scale Open Space and the experience of keeping in touch with other persons make fine and deep impression on people. What's more, humanity factor and other six static state image elements at the same time is relation, humanity factor between individuality and the carrier is a spirit, static state six image elements are entities, the humanities environment factor is the university campus the characteristic spirit should integrate to other six entity ideas. Only will this both blend well, the university campus environment would have more characteristic, make more person's impression is deep. Take Anhui Agriculture University as the case example to carry on concrete analysis on this foundation, take expect as the reformation of the old campus and lately the extension of the campus provide concrete operation mode.Based on the analyses I got an elementary comprehension on the campus image on the mind of teachers and students, It can remind the campus designers to pay attention to campus plan and think more about users need. The paper also provided a reference direction to the organization who wants to plan the campus features, and to create characteristic campus environments.
