Study On The Landscape Planning Of The Great Cannel In Jiangsu Province

The Great Cannel has a long history; cities along the cannel became prosperous for it. Owing to unreasonable urban development and construction, the Great Cannel environment has been seriously damaged. For example, water is polluted, river course is silt up. Gradually people move away from the Great Cannel, its cultural inheritance and civilizations melt away. Along with the Great Cannel environment problems and cultural heritage declaring, to rescue its water and river corridors, give full play to its potential landscape and ecological value, protect the cultural inheritance had reached consensus. Using landscape planning theory and landscape ecology theory, this paper try to work out a scientific and rational landscape planning method system to guide the landscape construction of the Great Cannel in Jiangsu, in order to improve the Great Cannel ecological environment and landscape outlook, provide public spaces for people to get close to nature, improve people's quality of life and last the Great Cannel cultures.The introduction part mainly introduced the background of the subject and the current study situation in and out, illuminated the research purpose and significance, set forth the research contents and methods.This paper was divided into four main parts:Chapter one: This chapter mainly expounded some related concepts such as landscape, the Great Cannel landscape, landscape planning and some related theories as John Ormsbee Simonds landscape planning theory,"three element"theory, city design theory and landscape ecology theory. These concepts and theories are the basis of this study.Chapter two: First, this chapter introduced the general condition of the Great Cannel in Jiangsu province. Second, the author analyzed the Great Cannel landscape situation of six main cities in Jiangsu from eight aspects as land properties, water quality, green space, revetment, buildings, facilities, traffic, and cultural inheritance. Last, this chapter summed up the law and common problems.Chapter three: Combine with the investigation analysis, this chapter put forward the landscape planning objectives, principles and countermeasures. The countermeasures included how to improve the water quality, how to plan buildings and how to reform the channel chape. According to the different landscape of urban area and suburban area, author divided the Great Cannel into two landscape sections to plan, and then expounded different sections planning contents and plants planning. At last, this chapter singly studied the revetment planning and green landscape planning. Raising these objectives, principles, countermeasures and planning methods was in order to guide the Great Cannel landscape planning of every city in Jiangsu.Chapter four: Guided by the principles and methods discussed before, under the specific circumstances of Suzhou, this chapter took Suzhou urban area for example to introduce the landscape planning of the Great Cannel. This example also had some reference value to the landscape planning of other cities in Jiangsu.
