Drainage basin is an intact and independent system that is composed of different ecological systems. Any changes in water quality and quantity of drainage basin system have effects on the eco-environmental structure and function. So water quality and quantity of drainage basin are closely connected with eco-environment. Water environment deterioration and eco-environment system degradation, which was caused by run-off changes because of human activities, have aroused a series of research on river eco-environmental system.On the basis of research on river ecological system, we can get some representative concepts about ecological river system. It is easy to definitude their connotation and its characteristics, and furthermore, comprehensive evaluation of ecological river is synoptically analyzed as well as respective influential factors. River ecological system principle is studied in order to build up a set of comprehensive indexes system model of river eco-environment system evaluation. It is necessary to investigate river eco-environment structure, comment structure, indexes standard and subjection, so according to the characteristics of river ecological system, it's doable to choose hierarchical fuzzy synthesis evaluation method as comprehensive evaluation method of river ecological system. The evaluation proved that Hwaihe River runs in good state while there are some problems existing along the line before estuary such as earth slope collapse, high plant death rate, severe pollution and serious artificial disturbance. Meanwhile, some corresponding measures are put forward for environmental treatment of Hwaihe River estuary.
