Xiaolangdi hydro-junction project has displayed huge social efficiency and economic efficiency since it retained water and was brought into service.It has relieved the threat of the flood and the ice run to the lower reaches, alleviated the downriver channel sedimentation, and might increase about 4 billion water supply every year to improve the downriver agriculture irrigation and city water supply condition. The power plant aggregates capacity 1800MW, which is the Henan electrical network to the backbone to adjust the peak power source, installs equipment 6. Therefore, it is an extremely vital duty to strengthen the work of our safety monitor.In the construction process, many off-carriage instrument and the observation point has been successively installed underground. We have carried out a series of prototypes observation and the field test work since the dam retained water 8 years ago to obtain several million test data, which provides us the basis to keep abreast of the dam work condition, In view of the project need, the present paper close integrates with project reality, has created the condition for the project determined the reasonable utilization pattern by conducting the analysis research to observed technical the development, the dam observation design, the construction, the instrument shaping, the analysis method and the observation achievement.This article takes Xiaolangdi project as a background, introduces the monitor domain technical theory and its application comprehensively and systematically,makes a comprehensive comments, points out the existing problems to be solved, the experiences to summarize and the lessons to draw on,may supply the similar projects the model of safety appraisal, and may provide the reference for the dam movement control section, will be able to take good impetus effect and play a exemplary role regarding the work development of the monitor domain.
