Concrete filled steel tube frame is a new kind of structures, because of its excellent seismic behavior, high strength, great economic benefits and other advantages, more and more high-rise and wide-span buildings apply concrete filled RHS(rectangular hollow section) as the vertical bearing members in recent years; when concrete filled RHS is applied in frame structures as beams, it can display nice behavior such as: effectively debasing story height, augmenting span , better economic benefits , architecture effect and so on. In order to research the behavior of concrete filled RHS beam in frame and seismic behavior of concrete filled RHS frame, the text carries out experimental and theory research on the concrete filled RHS frame, Research contents are listed as follows:(1)Based on the seismic experimental research on two pieces of 1 bay, 2 stories models of concrete filled RHS frames, the bearing capacity, ductility, energy dissipation and collapse mechanism are researched and analyzed, its seismic behavior is assessed sequentially;(2)Static nonlinear analysis of concrete filled RHS frame using Sap2000 software has been carried out, and the legitimacy is validated compared with the experimental results;(3)Based on the Push-over research on a piece of reinforced concrete frame in actual project, and steel frame, concrete filled RHS frame which are transformed with equal stiffness to the reinforced concrete frame, the behavior and economic are contrasted and researched to the three kinds of structure;The results show that concrete filled RHS frame has plumper shuttle shape hysteretic curves, excellent energy dissipation ,and enough later loading capacity ,also the frame can forms the beam hinged collapse mechanism, so the frame has wonderful superiority on seismic behavior; the collapse mechanism and behavior can be well and truly analyzed using Push-over module of Sap2000 software, compared with reinforced concrete and steel frames the concrete- filled RHS frames have the advantages of higher bearing capacity, and better economic benefits. So we can conclude that the concrete-filled RHS frame has wonderful superiority on bearing capability, seismic behavior and effective use of material; it is deserved researching thoroughly and extending to practice projects.
