Photovoltaic as a green power source is playing a very important role in modern energy generation. The Photovoltaic system s main component is battery cell, and its long-term running parameters need very close monitor and study. The paper gives a prototype solar cell running status data collection and analysis system design.This paper contains the following part:1,System design. Based on virtual instrument (VI) theory, We developed a home-made USB-enabled embedded data acquisition PCB board and its corresponding labVIEW PC application.2,A detailed description on hardware module. We choose C8051F320 microcontroller as main CPU and build its surrounding component. 4 chip AT45DB311 Flash made up total 32MBit long-life storage and USB protocol stack we fully utilized USBXpress development kit.3,PC side software is bases on NI LabVIEW environment. We implemented device detection/communication,parameter download/upload, data playback and trivial data analysis function module. The proper modulation design give us better maintenance complexity and significantly reduced the overall cost.4,Finally we did a complete system integration and verification process. Based on simulation and real analysis, we concluded that our prototype system meet our design goal.5,In this design, we also find out a way to make NI LabVIEW USB communication between third-party device reliable and fast, which give us future design much more choice.
