The impact of starting is the main reason why damage the starting machine of carrying load or shorten its life. Soft starting is point that equipment with heavy load can start placidly by overcoming the inertia. Soft starting can not only reduce the impact of working device caused by transmission system effectively, but also shorten the impact of electric current.The soft starting system based on mechanism, electricity and hydraulic adopts the structure of epicyclical gear system with hydro-mechanical wet clutch. It makes the degree of freedom of the system change gradually from 2 to 1 to increase the liquid viscous force between clutch plates, and the output shaft is flexibly loaded, accordingly. Because of the complexity of the whole soft starting system, the digital prototype of the soft starting system was constructed with the aid of 3D CAD modeler of UG, which will ensure that the physical prototype can run exactly. The analysis was implemented by the use of structure module and motion moudule. theoretical analysis has been studied to hydro-viscous drive and hydraulic system has been designed. In order to control the electromagnetic valve of hydraulic system, control system based on PLC has been designed. In order to verify the starting effects of soft starting systerm, evaluate the result of design, and get the optimization parameter of starting, the systerm of data acquisition, display ,and storage has been designed by using virtual instrument technology based on LabVIEW platform. At last, the experiment data has been disposed by using Matlab and the experiment result has been gained.Accoding to academic analysis and experiment data, the soft starting system based on mechanism, electricity and hydraulic has been proved that it can meet request. First, it can reduce the impact of working device caused by transmission system effectively, dissolve the shock at the time of starting and prolong its life, second, it can shorten the impact time of electric current and reduce the hot impact of the electric motor, third, it has overload protection fuction.
