With the development of modern industry,lots of new requirements of industrial automation are brought forward. The PLC control system is not meat this new requirements in some situations because of its intrinsic limitations,while the imbedded system meets the industrial new requirements depending on its advantages,such as small volume,low cost,strong function,scalable and so on.This paper takes the automated electrified monorail system (AEMS) as an example, which is a kind of industrial automated material handling systems. The feasibility and advantages of the controller are researched,which is based on embedded system and ARM technologies.In the general design,the need of AEMS is analyzed. Then,a blue print for control is designed,which is based on ARM,and integrated with RFID and wireless communication. It is the first time to conceive a method that is using RFID to identify path.High demands of industrial Environment is taken into account in the controller's hardware design. The technology of EMC is carried out from the principle scheme to PCB layout. A high reliable hardware plan is achieved. And then,according to the principle of multi-task division and the traits,this software function is divided into multi-task structure within reason which simplify the development and maintenance. It is established that the software structure bases on Producer /Consumer model. On these foundations,this paper achieves the protocol stacks of wireless communication and radio frequency identification.Solving many practical problems,this control system passes the examination of industrial environment form the beginning to the end. Finally,the system is successfully put into practice and passes the 8-hour-running test with no breakdown. It is proved that the controller which developed could shorten the fixing time,reduce the cost,rebuild rapidly,etc. And this paper verified the feasibility of wireless communication and the new way to identify the path by RFID.
