Under the influence of educational ideology of professionalism, the knowledge range of our country's engineering graduates is too narrow, and their defects of being short of innovative sense and spirit of solidarity and cooperation make them unable to meet the demands of modern society. Practice has shown that modern engineering education shall attach importance to the fostering of students' engineering qualification, and only in such a way can they deal with the development of modern science and technology. This article, through the learning of and drawing on the experience of the higher engineering education course reform of European and American countries and so on, probes into the engineering education course reform that is based on the fostering of engineering qualification and fit to our country's situation. It also indicates out that in our country's procedures of course reform, it is necessary to fully embody macro-engineering concept, to attach importance to course system re-structuring, to embody a solid specialty foundation, to foster capability of innovative design, to embody the offering of courses of humane studies, and to pay attention to the cultivation of students' engineering ethics, ideological and moral qualities as well as their independent personality, so as to realize the integration of the course content, to optimize the relevance of the courses, and in the procedures of course content reform it is necessary to give consideration to both course appraisal and teaching methodology reform as well as innovation.
