As the instant development of the power electronic technology and the computer control technology, the locomotive equipments adopt computer control more and more, adopting network control technique assure that the equipments of adopting computer control can harmony mutually when they work.Because the instant development of various field bus technique, making the application of field bus control technique possible in locomotive microcomputer control network. therefore,for improving the control performance of the locomotive and maximizing operating reliability of locomotive, It is necessary that locomotive adopting microcomputer control has become locomotive control technique's development, while it is widespread tendency that locomotive microcomputer control network adopt field bus technique.This paper base control methods and functions of the existing locomotive device level control system, though compare to many field buses' technical feature and CAN bus's feasibility analysis in locomotive control, makes sure selecting CAN bus as device level control bus of locomotive microcomputer control network. according to the general principles of the network system design, have carried on design to the CAN bus network structure of locomotive device level,make the network has many merits as generality, extensibility, reliability etc, and put forward a kind of design plan of new network redundancy based on the network, it assures raliability and real-time of the data transmission.according to the function and the design thought of the computer network operating system, this paper proposes the concrete design thought of CAN bus network operating systemof locomotive device level, and draw up application layer protocol.This paper carries on design to the hardware system structure that constitutes locomotive device level microcomputer control network, further carring on reasonable software design to the system, and it proves rationality of design of whole system through the experiment. finally, I put forward suggestion of setting up CAN bus network of locomotive device level based on study's result. it can operates train traction, brake and supporting system equipments through locomotive device level microcomputer control network; detects train major equipments' state, for understanding running state of each equipment,making driver realizes more effectively real-time control, thereby assuring locomotive's security and reliability.
