| The strength and stability of subgrade relates to the physical character of filled soil, moisture contents of subgrade compaction and the degree of compaction in most degree. The compaction of subgrade is a familiar but complicated problem to civil engineers because many factors have influence on it. Especially on silt and clay, only controlling degree of compaction, using current compaction standards, can not assure the intensity and stability of subgrade absolutely. At present, It is serious that early diseases of pavement in China. In addition to construction management, actual standard of compaction are also the main reasons of settlement and deformation of the subgrade. Because of the complexity of factors affecting compaction, and the non-uniform and anisotropic properties of soil, and effectiveness from environment, in order to know the engineering properties of compacted subgrade and to maintain its long-term stability, the study on mechanism of compaction and how to apply adequate standards in construction (including laboratory and field tests) should be taken for maintaining the strength and stability of subgrade. Some typical soils in different types are researched in this article .The indoor tests which have been system performed: .Research the relationship between characteristic parameters of soil and strength (modulus of resilience). Research the regularity of moisture content and the water stability. Through the above relation and regularity, reasonable compaction standard also has been established. Through the standard of compaction that is put forwarded, controlling the quality of the subgrade that is invested, the rationality of compaction standard is verified. |
