Then it focused on illustratingthe system of Australian protected areas, which includes the managementorganizations, management categories of protected areas, as well as the correspondingrelationship of protected areas categories between Australia and IUCN (WorldConservation Union). The paper analyzed the main features of Australia's protectedareas system: multi-level management organization, multi-entity types of protection.And it analyzed the management experiences of Australian protected areas, consistingof the classification of government sectors for management, the private factorsinvolved in the management, the legal system of management, communityinvolvement in management (co-management), indigenous protected area. It fatheredto taking Kakadu National Park and Dhimurru Indigenous Protected Area as thetypical cases of the Australian Protected Area for analyzing Australia's outstandinginnovation models of community involvement in management of protected areas(joint management) and the establishment of indigenous protected areas. It summedup the advanced experiences of Australia's protected area management. Finally thispaper mentioned the important contribution to the development of internationalprotected areas from Australia.
