The Application Of Concurrent Engineering To The Sample Bus Developing

Concurrent engineering (CE) is a systemic method that deals with design products and the correlative products process integrally and concurrently. The core idea about concurrent engineering is concurrent designing which is inherited from theories and methods of conventional designing which is inherited from theories and methods of conventional design and is developed. Its appearance depends on the computer technology, information network technology and the development and application of modern manufacturing environment.Based on the thoughts and methods of concurrent engineering and the character of sample bus developing process, oriented bus product developing system has been built. We use the IDEF3 process modeling technique and establish the sample bus developing process model. We reorganize the old product developing process and integrate some sub process together. We establish the milestone planning and the regulation of designing audit in the project developing process. In addition we create cross-functional teams to participate in the sample bus developing and emphasize the downstream staff should take part in the whole process at appropriate time so that we could find the design defect in advance and decrease the frequency of engineering changes. Utilize the PERT to manage and supervise the progress of the whole project. At first we deploy the whole project into individual tasks. According to historical experience and current situation, we estimate the operating time of each task. Furthermore, according to the revised sample bus developing process, we find out correlation among tasks and the key route of the whole project. So we can strictly supervise the progress of key processes and assure the whole project can be finished on time. We track and administer the project and according to real status adjust the progress of whole project to assure the project can be implanted effectively. Through the way of establish the cross-functional team it offers the assurance to develop sample bus successfully in organization sector.To perform the whole project based on concurrent engineering will shorten the cycle time to sample bus developing, strengthen the competitive ability of the company.
