Since 1979, the number of the tourism ropeway has rapidly increased fromzero to current near three hundred in the tourism areas of our country. Thetourism ropeways have been built or are being built in the national majority ofscenery spots, which has promoted the tourism business and the modernizationof transportation in the scenery areas. However, the prop towers, which areconcerned with the security of the ropeway transportation, are very importantfactors for the ropeways. The calculating accuracy for the strength, hardness andstability of the prop towers is very important. The calculating method for theprop towers' design has inherited the traditional structure analysis method. Onlypartial resistance and displacement, instead of the holistic can be received fromsuch a calculating method. With the rapid development of tourism, therequirement of tourism ropeways has increased steadily. Hence, the designoffices are eagerly seeking for a modern design method which can rapidly andaccurately reflect the holistic stress and the distributing principle when it isstressed.This article will expound the carrying features and the structure charactersof the triangle-style prop towers. It has completed the design blueprint and themathematical model with I-DEAS analysis theory. The condition of resistanceand displacement can be achieved through the I-DEAS analysis for six kinds of situations of the prop towers. FEA model analysis has been made, and a specificdesign calculating method for the triangle-style prop towers has been discoveredsuccessfully.
