Bridge construction machine is a kind of special machine to suspend the prefabrication girder to the bracket, and its main-beam is main component, whose cost occupies more than half of the whole cost of machine. Under the precondition of satisfying the operation requirement, it is a key problem for a construction company to reduce the main-beam's cost and to transport and install it conveniently, which is the focus of this paper.Firstly various main-beam structures of the bridge construction machine had been thoroughly investigated at bridge construction sites. Then three kinds of main-beams are modeled and studied by ANSYS . Through a comprehensive and quantitative analysis on the imitating data, a conclusion can be obtained. The application of the Beilei main-beam is of high cost performance.In order to overcome the shortcoming of the Beilei main-beam,a new main-beam structure is being designed. The feasibility of this structure is demonstrated by modeling and imitating analysis. It rurns out that the new main beam structure can not only overcome the disadvantage of BeiLei main-beam in stiffness, but also exert the advantage of BeiLei main-beam in high cost performance.The study of this paper provided scientific basis for the bridge construction company in choosing a main-beam structure of high cost performance, and provides a kind of new structure form for the main-beam structure of the bridge construction machine as well.
