AC drive became developing general leads of modern drive power, with the improvement and promoting of AC drive locomotive and its technology quality, more and more asynchronous motors are used in railway vehicle. Vector and direct torque control are mostly used methods in asynchronous motor control. These two methods have been widely used because their good static and dynamic characteristics. However the precondition is accurate electrical parameters. This paper is mainly about asynchronous motor parameters identification and practical on-line and off-line identification methods of the electrical parameters are concluded.Microcomputer technology is introduced into this application to measure basic parameters of AC motor, including the stator leakage inductance, resistance stator and rotor leakage, rotor resistance and mutual inductance, and on-line automatic parameters identification is implemented at last. The offline identification is done on test workbench and data acquisition technique is used to measure inputting voltage and current of the motor in both load and unload status. In the experiment of motor, instantaneous value of voltage and current are accurately measured, and then software in the computer can be used to analyze the spectrum and filter the data. These operations improve the veracity, and greatly reduce the difficulty in testing. The parameters identification method developed in this paper is certificated practical. The software and hardware are proved to be reliability and accurate. A complete program of online and offline motor parameters identification is presented in this paper and accurate data of motor's basic parameters are reached. The result of this paper provide basic datum to vector and direct torque control of asynchronous motors.
