A Study On Urban Anthropology Analysis Of Urban Living Space And Planning Responses

On rapid development of China urbanization, sub-urbanization of metropolis isnow appearing. Small towns in suburbs of metropolis face double pressures, whichone is from expanse of metropolis, the other is from urbanization of rural areas, sothat many problems and challenges are appearing in urban living spaces. Such as howto make variable dwellers live in harmony, how to respond to enlargement of townspace, and so on.This paper refers to urban anthropology, whose viewpoints are used to analyzeproblems and contradictions in urban living space. Taking Zhuanqiao town ofMinhang District in Shanghai as an example, this paper researched some problemsand challenges on urban living space in theory and demonstration. On theory study,this paper introduced the developing course, content and method of urbananthropology, and put forward some ideas on application of urban anthropology tourban planning, and the analysis framework, principles and responses of urban livingspace planning. On demonstration study, this paper analyzed three facets ofZhuanqiao residential space, which are the compose of residential space, the relationsof residential space, the analysis on the motives of the formation. In the end, thispaper proposed residential space planning responses from four viewpoints, which arepolicy viewpoint, market viewpoint, public viewpoint and urban design viewpoint.
