The virtual prototyping technology based on multi-body dynamics is the digital analyzing method for computer simulation model of product. For the complex mechanical systems, multi-body dynamics model set by engineers have direct impact on the simulation and analyzing works later. This thesis is based on the research works supported by National High-Tech, China (No. 2004AA411010) and the National Key Science & Technology program (No. 2004BA201A85), aiming at developing highly effective multi-body dynamics simulation software which has independent copyright and is easy to use for native manufactories, the algorithm is researched, and the platform is developed, with the engineering project in a automobile company further research works have been done.Firstly, mechanical system model element of the preprocessing in multi-body dynamics platform is analyzed and realized based on OO, the architecture and logic class are presented. In view of the shortcomings of the dynamic modeling software for complex mechanical system in terms of its lower efficiency, incapability of reuse and high threshold for fresh users , comprehensive investigation on subsystem modeling technology of complex mechanical system has been performed. A coordinate switch method of multilevel subsystem is shown, the interface scheme of subsystem model is designed, the assembly arithmetic of subsystem, the parameterized arithmetic based on subsystem assembly is presented.Secondly, based on the algorithm, model element of subsystem is designed and developed. A model of automobile subsystem is shown by analyzing the structure and function of this typical kind of complex mechanical system, the reusable library of automobile subsystem is set up, which simplified and improved the dynamics simulation flow of automobiles.Finally, with the integrated technologies and methods mentioned above, and with the theory such as multi-body dynamics, computer graphics, the multi-body dynamics simulation platform -InteDyna is developed. Consequently, through cooperating with some automobile corporation, the efficiency and reliability of subsystem modeling technology is verified by applying InteDyna to the whole automobile dynamic simulation analysis and test validation of various types of automobiles.
