The drastic market competition requests the automobile industry to spend much less time develop cars of high quality and low price. Technical innovation has become the linchpin upon which success or failure depends. With the rapid development of computer technology, people had made great progress in the whole vehicle virtual prototype technology.In this thesis, based on the classic theory of multi-body system dynamics, avehicle virtual prototype is established under the ADAMS/Car-the most advancedmechanical system simulation software. Using virtual prototype simulation system to carry out virtual experiments includes control stable performance and ride comfort.Using the hardpoint which is measured from the CAD model, multi-rigid-body dynamics model of the whole vehicle is bulided by ADAMS/Car. this model includ some subsystem such as steering, front spension etc. Also, to improve the accuracy of virtual model, ADAMS/Leafsping models the front leaf spring as model-flex-body. Using the steering—suspension assembly to make some front suspension simulation and get many character parameters of steering and suspension such as camber angle, toe angle and stering angle of front wheel. At last, we get the transient state and steady state response parameters of the control stable performance and the parameters of ride comfort.The whole research work concentrates on the exploration and application of virtual design and analysis.this is of great significance to reduce the manufacture time and the cost of real prototyping.
