In order to change the domestic product quality inspection using manual measurement, artificial records, for this theory to the DDC control system, developing a set of parts quality automatic inspection systems. This paper based the core of the automatic measurement system designing. An in-depth study of the computer system serial communications mechanism, color CCD image collection and processing and system control functions design etc has been done, and achieved better results.The main research and innovation in this thesis is as follows:1. Realizing the quality of the parts of the measurement automation. The system based on the corresponding measurement sensor features designed a number of inspection work spaces, and through the use of step motor achieved parts transit. Changing the outdated operation of the manual measurement and artificial record.2. In order to get the value of the part length parameter, the system get the capturing picture and transmit it into the computer through the use of color CCD camera head and color images capture card. Firstly, the system uses the fast median filter arithmetic to reduce the interference signals, and then extract the part's figure with the single threshold value. At last the paper gives the method of how to get the length parameter value through the extracted part's figure.3. According to the DDC control technologies, using the PLC as kernel, using modular structure, which includes input module A/D, output module D/A, digital input module and relay output module, applying advanced control method. All of these reduce the cost of production and achieve satisfactory effect.4. Complete control system software design, particularly in the context of a micro-computer control technology, through the coordination of micro-computers and PLC control system achieved good control results.5. Against the trend of industrial production automation management, designing the monitoring control system using VC++6.0 visualization programming environment. The application software runs on Windows 2000 or Winpdows XP platform with strong function and a good user interface.
