The purpose of this dissertation is to design a High Speed TV Photograph System (HSTVPS) and to measure the 3D altitude of a object by using optical methods. The HSTVPS can record the rocket launching process in the form of high-speed image sequences. After processing these images, we can then get some important data about the rocket launching experiments. The HSTVPS works under the control of serial port and is watched by a video. And it depends on memory to store those captured images. In this dissertation, we also have a study on how to get the 3D altitude of a object from images captured by multi-camera or by mono-camera. The main work of this dissertation is shown below: 1. After working over the real-time system, the properties of Windows System and devicesrelated with image capture such as image grabber and CCD camera, we have proposed apure software method to store high-speed images within Windows System in real time. Theexperimental results and the reliability of this method are presented. 2. In the premise of studying the technology of communicating serial port in detail, we haverealized all the controls by serial-port communication. These controls include system start, system initialization, parameter settings, image grabbing and storing, image replay, imagedata transfer and system shut down. 3. Several means of displaying image in Windows system and how to time precisely arelearned. And we have devised a good way to control the serial images to be displayed aheador aback in certain periods of time. 4. We have resolved the problem of transfering image data from our system into other devicesby using a kind of Plug and Play (PnP) criterion. Except for adding and removing themoveable hard disk, the whole process is controlled by serial-port communication. 5. How to get the 3D altitude of a object from images captured by multi-camera or bymono-camera is researched. And the results of some experiments are dipicted.
