In this paper, the integrated automatic system of 110kV substation in Shaoguan smelting plant is designed according to the development situation of the technology of substation integrated automation system inland and aboard and to satisfy the requirement of the substation. Following major tasks is done:Firstly, the design principal is put forward according to the local situations and the demand of the 110kV substation integrated automation system in Shaoguan smelting plant. The basal structure about the system is made through the selection of the suitable hardware and the design of the software and network. It is needed to compartmentalize its logic layers and to understand its logic structure and function. Secondly, its deep research and design is finished about some key technologies of the software for the system. These include the high capability of multi-layer database system, the software of intellectualized electrical simulation drawing, the interlinkage and the real time data exchange of the heterology system, the data exchange with external and the share platform base on web pattern, and the software of system supervising. The software platform is made to fell in with system demand on the basis of current developmental tendency of technique. Finally, a net is built up for the integration automatic system by using with RS-485 field bus and Ethernet. It is realized for real time data and information to transmit reliably. It is implemented to have the ability for man-machine dialogue, and have the system for operation and monitoring through the combining of the software and the hardware. A safe, reliable and economic integration automatic platform is realized for the system of 110kV distribution system in Shaoguan smelting plant.Now, this system is applied in the factory. The running state indicates that the system not only in accurate control, smart response and reliable data transmit, but also easy to operate, extend and maintain. It sufficiently satisfies the requirement of substation in the integrated automation.
