In this paper the principle and purpose of reactive power compensation are presented. According to the current situation of reactive power compensation from the distribution system, reactive power optimization method is given. In real-time compensation, for different load conditions, the control of capacitor's switching is researched in the view of the real-time.By theory analyzing and using advanced hardware and software technology , this paper detailedly introduces solution ways , the realization of system's key technology and the Var compensation scheme in order to solve the problem of Var compensation in low voltage. To solve the current impulse problem when the non-contactor switch on or cut off the capacitance ,we particularly design the main circuit and the trigger circuit and use the open-off ratio control ways to eliminate impulse current. In order to shun the current resonance ,we use series inductance in main circuit to avoid the harmonic current by theory computation. We add voltage harmonic filter to reduce the harm which voltage harmonic do to power system. In the severe power system unbalance situation, we use the power balance implement principle to do Var compensation , we can make the power factor reach given value and make the three phase load become balance in the same time. We make the power factor get optimum control effect by using optimum control theory to a single control appliance. To multi-appliance, first we get the most optimum Var compensation nodes in lines, the we use Dynamic Programming algorithm to the control ways of least energy consume by cooperating the appliance.Nowadays, the system has been applied in the factory. The running state indicates that the system not only has high control precision, hign response speed and reliability in data transmitting,but also is easy to operate, extend and maintain. The system satisfies with the requiremengs of control.
