With the development of computer technology and the extensive application of CAD,many different kinds of information management systems such as PDM have appeared. InChina, in the light of the factors such as high-cost, high-risk, long cycle, difficulties in dataacquisition and processing, lacking accuracy, needing large manpower etc, the majority ofmedium and small enterprises rarely implement large projects such as PDM successfully.Many medium and small enterprises are in urgent need of "Management System" which don'thave glaring functions like PDM or PLM but have the basic functions such as searchingaccessory, managing product structure, automatically forming BOM etc.Through systematic analysing of all kinds of information management systems, it isknown that they all treat BOM as the essence of system information integration. Therefore,considering actual demand of general small manufacturing enterprises, in JHCAD platformand JHCAD Document Management System framework, based on the choice of C/Sarchitecture, using ADO technology of VC to connect to SQL Server 2000, this thesisresearches and develops main module of a small BOM Management System.This thesis deeply discusses the status quo of BOM Management System and the existentproblems. Since Engineering BOM is the base of other BOM view, chooses a focus onEBOM. Also analyses various expressions of BOM, and selects a reasonable model. On thebasis of deeply studying in data structure, designs BOM data structure. Designs unifiedidentifier code to mark each accessory, which makes expandedness of BOM convenient, fast,and high accurate rate.BOM information is implied in the product drawing detail tables, only after beingidentified and extracted to database it can be used by management systems. In the face ofmodem complex products, if still fill data and complete BOM manually, it is not onlylaborious, time-consuming and tedious, but prone to error. This thesis in JHCAD platformextracts JHCAD details table information automatically using the method of definingtemplate, identifies the types and attributes of components, and then forms complete BOMand stores them in database automatically, realizes the integration of BOM ManagementSystem and JHCAD. This thesis also realizes visible management of BOM information,including information browsing, gathering list output, node adding, deleting and updating. This system is already tested in LAN, procedure operates well, achieves the goal ofexpected, and all proves that various algorithms are feasible and accurate.
