750kV power transmission project in West-North Electric Network is the highest voltage project in domestic. Electric bus arrangement is considered in project designing. Reliability evaluating is important base for defining bus arrangement.The element reliability model of main electric arrangement and reliability analysis algorithm is described on the base of research domestic and aboard. It is also reformed from project application, such as switching time and related faulting and so on .Reliability of two possible methods bus arrangement of 750kV GuanTing substation are finished on this base. Because there isn't related reliable date about 750kV, so three reliability date——Russian & Canada, CIGRE's and LongTan station (750kV) are used to calculate reliability and economy of the bus arrangement scheme. With the result of the reliability index and economic evaluation, the 3/2 arrangement can be accepted for GuanTing substation.
