The power station bus systems arrangement is the main part of power systems.The reliability of power station bus systems arrangement has great effect to the safe and the economical operation of power systems.In a longtime,much research has been done in this field,and a variety of reliabilitymodels and methods have been proposed.Firstly,the paper introduces the definition and the characters of power station bus systems arrangement in detail,the significance of research on reliability of power station bus systems arrangement.With analyzing these methods,the paper discovers that these existent methods and models have not considered the characters of bus systems arrangement,the relativity of components and the isolation after the component failure.By analyzing the characters of bus systems arrangement,it is discovered that the function of bus systems arrangement is carried out by the minimal paths that originating from generators and terminating transmission lines in bus systems arrangement and the component failure will effect the operation of bus systems arrangement by cutting off some minimal paths.According to these ideas,the minimal cut-state based on the state of component has been proposed to evaluate the reliability on power station bus systems arrangement.The reliability of power station bus systems arrangement of Hohhot thermal power plant is analyzed in detail.The continuity indices,security indices and adequacy indices will apply to the bus systems arrangement reliability assessment with considering the characters of the power station bus systems arrangement that connecting sources and systems.It gives the basis for the safe and stable operation of the power station bus systems arrangement.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the power station bus systems arrangement,the paper puts forward the idea of improving it.The reliability level of different the power station bus systems arrangement modes is analyzed.The probability,frequency and power failure time index are compared and analyzed,and the measures and suggestions for improving the reliability of power plants are put forward.
