Railway transportation is the vital part of the traffic transportation , especialy in China, the railway transportation plays a very important role for the national economy. With the railway in the world developing towards high-speed, heavy load, a lot of new structures, new materials and new technology are used and developed widely in the design and manufacture.The bogie's structure affects directly the dynamics when the vehicles is running. For a long time, due to operating stability, overturning security, maintenance for bearing and other factors, the outer axle bogie is used mostly in rail vehicles. With the continuous improvement of operational speed require the bogie structure with lightweight and low wheel-rail force. In abroad, for many years, the results of research and experiments showed that the inner axle-box bogie a can effectively reduce the quality of wheelset and frame compared with the outer axle-box bogie, which has shown many excellent dynamic characteristics such as light weight, easy to pass curve,it has been successfully applied in foreign countries. Inner axle-box bogies have been already used maturely in overseas, but it's research is less and application is blank in our country, therefore, the reasearch on the inner axle-box bogie in this paper is far more important.This paper has five parts for the inner axle-box bogie study.Firstly, inner axle-box bogies which have been used maturely in oversea were analyzed. Through the analysis of these bogies structure, the inner axle-box bogie was deeper understanded .Secondly, based on the results of study for inner axle-box bogie, a project of the inner axle-box bogie structure is put forward, and all parts of the bogie were analyzed further.Thirdly, the corresponding dynamics model was established by dynamics software SIMPACK. and loads of each part were analyzed, furthermore, the corresponding kinetic equations were established.Next, according to the dynamics model, the suspension parameters of the bogie were optimized, and the most suitable suspension parameter group was gained.Finally, on the basis of the optimized suspension parameters, the dynamics performance of the inner axle-box bogie was forecasted. The results show that all the parameters are satisfied. And the advantages and disadvantages of the inner axle-box bogie were compared with the traditional bogie.In a word, in this paper, the study results about the inner axle-box bogieshow that the the inner axle-box bogie is not only structure compact, light weight, good curving performance,adapting to the distorted lines,can also fulfill to the stability of high-speed and the security of the ant-overturn by choosing appropriate anti-hunting and anti-rolling devices,the inner axle-box bogie has a very good application prospect.
