The heavy haul bogie is the key component and conditionality factor for the heavy haul wagon development. Since 2009, China has developed a few types axle-load of 27t and 30t bogie, and conducted a series of experiment research, stage results have been achieved. Further research and development of the heavy haul bogie is a main part of bogie technology and is one of the important direction for the development of railway freight car technology in China.To study the 30t axle-load light-weight subframe radial bogie, at the first, the main intercommunity character along the world was analyzed, based on the experience, a new type heavy haul bogie structure, the suspension and main component setting was given. After that, a aluminum alloy coal hopper wagon system model which assembly the new bogie was set up, and the performance of bogie stability, sperling index and curve passing were predicted according to the Chinese railway standard GB/T5599-1985. The dynamic simulation shows all the dynamic indexes are satisfied. On this basis, a dynamic test was done at Shuo huang line of Shenhua Co, Ltd. Through analysis the test results, we verified the good dynamic performance of the bogie. Then, the static strength and fatigue reliability of key parts, such as bolster, side frame, subframe, were analyzed with FEM model. The calculation results show that the static strength and fatigue strength of the bolster, side frame and subframe have reached the design requirements. At the same time, both the simulation and test results show that the front parts reliability is sufficed. Finally, the reliability test also confirm the strength of the bolster, side frame and subframe.The conclusion of the research would offer the theoretic support for the 30t axle-load heavy haul bogie design in China, is also a beneficial practice exploration. The new type bogie is very important sample, and it is much operation valuable to improve the freight car technology level of China. It's also benefit for international heavy haul wagon market.
