Travel Behavior Characteristics Analysis For Women

Research on women's travel behavior has focused on individual travel behavior. Researching on women's travel behavior, we can deepen travel research, and thereby more effectively analyze and forecast traffic demand ,moreover,formulate more effective traffic construction, management and control policies and measures. With the large number of female's coming into labor market, women's travel has undergone tremendous change, particularly women's commuter travel has become an important factor of affecting transportation. Based on the behavior of female ,this paper with non-collection of model emphasizes on the comparison of women and men in the travel chain and the different modes of transport, and also pointes out travel behavior differences between the Chinese and Western women.It not only helps to research female travel behavior characteristics and interaction of socio-economic attributes from the source, but also government departments fully grasp the female traffic dynamics and provides fundamental basis for the reasonable development of transport policy and urban planning.Therefore, in this paper , on the basis of characteristics of women travel theme, the paper makes the following study with data from 2005 urban residents travel survey:(1) On the basis of the analysis about the domestic and foreign travel behavior of the status,the paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the various travel analysis methods, and points out existing research in existing research. In addition, this paper also expounds on mathematical analysis methods on travel behavior and the basic theory on travel behavior analysis, and emphasizes on introducing random utility theory. On the basis of analysis of the traditional travel research methods, the paper proposes activity-based travel research methods. In addition, the paper from the perspective of travel rate,travel time,travel purpose and travel mode, makes a comparison of women's and men's travel features and travel rule.(2) With activity-based analysis method, the paper introduces the definition of the travel chain, defines beginning and end standards on commuters's travel chain .Then the paper discusses the independence testing of the classification variable,and provides a statistical test method for the understanding of the various factors and the relationship between choice behavior. With non-collection of theories, the paper constructes trip-to-work chain type selection model on different genders. through the regression coefficient, the paper quantitatively analyzes commuters' socio-economic and other attributes' effect on their behavior of choice of trip chain.The paper also compares the difference between the choice of trip chain of different commuters. It provides help for understanding the different gender commuters activities and travel characteristics,and deeply study on the characteristics of women commuting trips.(3) The choice of travel mode in the behavior is one of the most concern to the public, the paper with non-collection of theories constructes travel mode choice model of commuters of different gender. The paper also provides the accuracy testing, with regression coefficient of the model,and explains options behavior of travel mode of different genders and puts forward reasons for the choice of transport methods.(4) Finally according to the survey data, the paper compares women's travel characteristics at home and abroad, explaines the difference between travel behavior, provides a basis for a more comprehensive exploration of the characteristics of women travel and the decision on elevant policies in the future.
