Research On The Campus Exterior Space Of The 100-Year-History Universities In Shanghai

In each famous city all over the world, there are one or several historied universities matching of its reputation. The campuses came into being with the development of the cities, recorded the cities growing and built up its own specific order.Nowadays, the construction of universities in China is entering a new period. For all the historied campuses, the problem of protection and rebuilding of them is before us. Due to the modernization of education idea, diversification of teaching method and the explosion of the students, a series of contradiction crossed together such as ancient and modern, halt and development, ruined and prosperous. It is the key task for the historied universities that how to make the reasonable rebuilding as to endue them the modern significance.Based on the practical case of Master Plan of Xuhui Campus Shanghai Jiaotong University, the thesis, with systemic analysis, finds out that revamping and rebuilding the exterior space is the effective way to award the old campus new life, not only fulfilling the usage requirement but also keeping its original appearance.The thesis focuses on the object of historied campus of 100-year-history universities in Shanghai, with 5 chapters to expatiate the exterior space plan. The First Chapter Exordium, states the background, meaning, purpose, object and research method, and analysises the related research status. The Second Chapter introduces the development history of the campus exterior space of 100-year-history universities in Shanghai in point of nationality and internationality specializes to analysis the problem existed in the exterior space of the historied campus. The Third Chapter brings forward the guide method and general rules of the exterior space plan on the basis of the above chapters. The Forth Chapter expatiates the design rules of"facticity, integrity, representablity, predictability, usage submitted to protection", and finds out the countermeasure of"esteem to history, unitary, various, flexible and humanistic"in design. Through the actual design experience of Xuhui Campus general plan of Shanghai Jiaotong University, it makes the conclusion of exterior space design steps for hisoried campuses. Step 1: research the buildings in campus and analysis in grade. Step 2: make the function distribution area. Step 3: make out the buildings distribution plan. Step 4: design the campus general plot plan. Step 5: finish the exterior space plan of historied campus. Step 6: set up the evaluation standard of historied campus exterior space. The Fifth Chapter analysises the practical example of the historied campus exterior space plan for 100-year-history universities in Shanghai.
