Research On The Local Characteristics Of Campus Exterior Space Of Shanghai Newly Built Campuses

In the 21^ST century,science and technology,mad talents of high level have akeady been the most dynamic production forces.With the arrival of informationsociety and the era of knowledge——intensive economy,and with the great reform of the system and theory of higher education,the college——campus construction in our country has stepped into all unprecedented high-speed period of development.Thus,those existing campuses are constantly renovated and extended;at the sanle time,new campuses are coming to the fore.However,softie of the traditional approaches to the college——campus planning and design are no longer adaptable to the rapid social,economic,scientific and technical changes.So,it is very valuable to reconsider the campus construction during current period from different aspects,and explore the theories of the campus planning and design which have Chinese characteristics and are inter-linked to the international higher education.As an important higher education base of China,Shanghai has many colleges and universities,and many of them are famous in our country.The construction of the campuses in Shanghai tends to be adaptable to the peculiar natural environment and climate in this region.On the other hand,different campuses have their own styles of the layout and the buildings.As a result,there exists many kinds of campus views in Shanghai.This paper briefly introduces the background of Shanghai,including the geography,the natural environment,the social and economic condition,and the history of the higher education's development as well.Then,through the analysises of the practical example of universities in Shanghai,it discusses the characteristics of the native campus design from such three aspects as campus planning,architecture appearance and campus space node. Based on the analyses,this paper discusses these challenging issues in the regionalism design of the campus exterior space: (1)how to match the regionalenvirolmaent;(2)how to inherit the gene of culture and civilization,this paper tries to sum up the experience of the campus design with regional characteristics,so as to provide some valuable referentiaI views for Chinese campus construction in the new century.This Paper is divided into 7 Chapters,each chapter mainly as follows: Chapter 1: Introduetion. States the background,meaning,purpose,eontent,method and analysises the related research status.Chapter 2: Theoretical research about the campus exterior space. Chapter 3: Theoretical research about .Chapter 4: Theoretical research about the influence factors of regional characteristics of the campus exterior space.Chapter 5:The strategies of regionalism design of the campus exterior space in Shanghai's universities.Through the analysises of the practical example of universities in Shanghai,discuss the way of regionalism design of the campus exterior space from such three aspects as campus planning,architecture appearance and campus square. Chapter 7: Conelusion. Sums up the basic viewpoint of regionalism design of the campus exterior space,and look into the future.
