Defined the Engine Thermal Management System based on the function of subsystem of Vehicle Thermal Management System.Build the lubrication system simulative model with AMESim and validated the simulative model by comparing the simulative data with the test data. Optimized oil pump based on the simulative model and compared the performance of the new pump and the old pump. The analysis proved the new pump to be fitter for the engine. Simulated the main oil passage performance when the VVT oil supply system was added and found it only affect little. Calculated the oil film pressure in main bearings, conrod bearings and camshaft bearings by elastohydrodynamic lubrication theory and calculated the limiting pressure in oil passage to protect gas bubble from formatting. Proved the oil pressure value of pump outlet is decided by the temperature of oil film in bearings. According to this, the lubrication is a typical thermal management system, just like cooling system.Build simulative sub-models of cooling system based on test data, including the engine model, radiator model, heater model, pump model ,thermostat model and vehicle transmission system performance. Simulated the cooling system work in different condition and analyzed the cooling system performance in every condition. Simulated the cooling system in special condition to verify its performance. Analyzed the cooling system simulative result and summarized the water pump designing aim.
