Earth-rock dam which is made of local material such as soil and sand,has been an important and competitive dam type,because of security,economic and adaptability.The terrain of construction field has big effect on the Earth-rock dam with the characters of great fill quantity and high fill intensity. The Filled soil subarea is the center issue of controlling construction schedule and determining investment. If the Filled soil have the right subarea, it can make good use of local material,and can gain both of economic and environment beneft. The filled soil subarea only analysis qualitalively according to the rules up to now. The result of subarea isn't economical enough,because the rules don't deal with the characters of the dynamic construction process and the existing filled soil and using transport machines quably.This paper takes the Sanyadalong Hydroelectric Project for example, associate with the design of filled soil subarea and the reasch on filled soil, the systemic study word was conducted in which the experiments and the synthesis intelligent methods were adopted.1.In this paper, the appropriative soil area would be reconnaissance again to confirm the soil'characteristic and the reserves. a series of indoor and outdoor experiments were performed on representational soil to ascertain the construction technics.2.In order to take full advantage of the prophase excavated soil and reduce the influence upon environment, tests were performed to study the prophase excavated soil to work out the characteristic and the way to use.3.Combining the request of construction period,craft and execution conditions, this paper seted up a linear programming model of dumping site which can adapt the ground conditions and work out the calculating programme by Matlab.4.Finally,the model's result was used in the dam construction,the optimization result shows that the filled soil subarea not only satisfied the design requirement,but also can reduce construction schedule and gain environment beneft.The optimization result gained by the program in this paper is true and reliable.The program not only provide available reference for filled soil subarea design,but also has the widespread practical value and application prospect.
