Based on the conception of "the Traffic Design" in 80s in twenty century, it is gradually highly attached to importance of the methods and technology of improving city traffic, a set of relatively whole methods and technology system has established right now, especially the research of intersections signal timing system grows rapidly, and goes to mature.Until now, there are many new production in the research, such as the Webster from Britain, the F-B, the ARRB from Australic , the HCM from USA and so on, we have some other ways.Because of the differences of each country's traffic situation and road design standard, different methods have different merits, and proper intersections have such a distance , each method only aims at the specified intersection conditions. Therefore, each has the limit. Our coutry is filled in walkers and bicycles, results in crowded and complex traffic. So it is necessary to find the right way of intersections signal timing algorithm.The article introduces varieties of modules of traffic streams particularly , systemically analyses and points out each shortage, and suggest the improvement. It particularly analyses the traditional system, sums up the area of each arithmetic in use , with the advantages and disadvantages, puts forward the project on its own. By the project, it analyses the intersection of the Dongfeng Road of Daqing city, and gets the best signal timing system. The article makes use of the genetic algorithm to optimize, the test shows that the result has evident influence on improving intersections traffic, proves the project is more satisefied.
