Origin: an article in "Reference Information" on June.3,2004, called "Getting Old without Reaching Wealth Sounded China's Alarm", a full-page report the concern which many international experts and scholars have shown on the rapid aging of China, this difficulty of this issue will cause "New Chinas' evanescent situation", "China's Aging" has arrived.——China has entered the 21st century ageing society; the problem of ageing will be very grim.History: Western "older facilities," the emergence can be traced back to ancient Greece and ancient Rome during the "Poor House" (at that time for the resettlement of the alone and uncared facilities for the geriatric), this can be regarded as the modern medical facilities in the embryonic form of old age.Status: Focusing on China' s current low medical standards and medical facilities, medical industries'emphasizing too much on the pursuit of economic profits, giving ideas and assumptions on the major influence of neglecting the old-age benefits of medical facilities. Especially for large general hospital only focusing on diseases for medical clearance and activities of the lead on, rather than focusing on the comprehensive treatment of geriatric patients in particular, with mental and physical health of the environmental and humanist shape.Topic: This article centers on the core facilities of the geriatrics' medical construction—nursing unit as the study subject, firmly grasping the two core essences of the nursing unit design, that is to start on the operational efficiency of the health care (efficiency factor), humanist design of ward space (Emotional elements). It is true that hospital care unit for the geriatric requires more delicate humanist design, but this must be based on nursing efficiency, the improvement of nursing efficiency is the purpose of humanist design, meanwhile humanist design is the method of improving nursing efficiency, they are not only contradictory, but conditional.Efficiency's improvement depends on the shortening of the nursing distance, which requests a compact ward plane pattern; Humanist design's in-depth requires comfortable spacious ward environment and a large number of medical support and the exchange of green space, which undoubtedly lead to the enlargement of wards plane; Only the deep organic integration of these two can reach the balance point of being efficient and comfortable—this is the applicable value of the research of this paper. Logic: This paper choose geriatric hospital as the subject, using efficiency and emotion as the two sides of the subject conflict, and first though the literature analysis of foreign geriatric rehabilitation ward; followed by domestic field investigation of the five geriatric nursing unit wards, then deeply analyze efficiency and emotion, treatment and rehabilitation, hospitalization and convalescence of the geriatric wards of the composite design and research, ultimately summed up the geriatric care unit ward of the design principles of the plan and the establishment of direct model to determine the geriatric ward design's ideal approach. Conclusion: Geriatric hospital nursing units ideal approach is divided into acute wards mode (open-focused care unit), sub-acute ward mode (Ring of efficient inspections private wards), chronic rehabilitation ward mode (more nurses in the ward group of delegation) are ideal models.
