Discussion On The Stytle Of The Sino-west Architecture Blend In Kaiping Diaolou

Kaiping Diaolou, distributing allover the area of Kaiping Country, are the multiple-story -house for the purpose of defense and dwelling. As an important part of the Chinese modern architectural history, Kaiping Diaolou blends both Chinese and western traditional architecture characters under the special local condition such as history and culture. They are the outcomes of the western architechure influents upon Guangdong modern architecture . Thus, they have been generally recognized as the evidence of the history development of overseas Chinese.Based on a large number of textural research and field work, the writer tries to give a legible cognition of the Kaiping Diao's development history, and also tries to explores the Sino-west architecture blend in Kaiping Diaolou, by concluding the styles and forms of the whole construction and each element.First,the thesis tries to conceive the reasons and construct process of Kaiping Diaolou, by giving a legible cognition of the Kaiping Diao's development history, including distributing and basic forms.Second, it also tries to explores architecture's form characteristics in Kaiping Diaolou by comparision and discussion,including the plane and elevation. Besides, it tries to summarize the styles and characters of the architecture elements by separate the whole Diaolou into different parts.
