China's southwest mountainous areas are widely distributed high liquid limit soil, with the rapid development of economic, more and more expressway had to be build in the high liquid limit soil area, and high liquid limit soil slope engineering problems have received increasing attention. Base on sub-grade construction project of Chongqing Shizhong Expressway, this paper makes a systematic study on the high liquid limit soil slope, and achieved some positive results.According to the field exploration, reference material and laboratory test, this paper sums up the major features of high liquid limit soil, and study on the major disease of high liquid limit soil slope.By using the finite difference method FLAC procedures, this paper analysis high liquid limit soil slope stability, and obtain the safety factor and the dangerous sliding side of slope, also evaluate treatment measures. Through centrifugal model test, this paper analyzed the stability of high liquid limit soil slope. And compare with the result of numerical simulation, evaluate the numerical simulation.Base on the theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and model test, this paper makes a systematic study on the high liquid limit soil slope stability, draw some general conclusions. These conclusions provide a reliable theoretical basis for practical application and further research.The paper abtained assistance of the 2006 Chongqing municipal transportation committee technology projects "Shi Zhong highway under complicated geological conditions roadbed construction technology".
