Paper analyses the steady-state limit of turbine generator without AVR, and deduces the steady-state limit of steam generator with AVR in detail, using linearized state equations according to Hurwitz's criterion. Paper analyses the parameters of AVR, end-core heating and terminal voltage of generator to the effect on the capability of generator's absorbing the reactive power. It does the experiment on leading phase operating of generator 4 in Datang Zhangjiakou power plant, and analyses the testing result. It sets up the simulative model of one-machine infinite-bus system with power system toolbox of the Simulink in MatLab 6.5, and simulates the process of generator stepping from lagging to leading phase operation. Using three and five order mathematical model of generator, it sets up different dynamical system simulative models, which are compared with their steady-state limit by simulation.
