Paper analyses the steady-state limit of turbine generator without AVR, and deduces the steady-state limit of steam generator with AVR in detail, using linearized state equations according to Hurwitz's criterion. Paper analyses the parameters of AVR, end-core heating and terminal voltage of generator to the effect on the capability of generator's absorbing the reactive power. It does the experiment on leading phase operating of generator 4 in Datang Zhangjiakou power plant, and analyses the testing result. It sets up the simulative model of one-machine infinite-bus system with power system toolbox of the Simulink in MatLab 6.5, and simulates the process of generator stepping from lagging to leading phase operation.
