The distribution network structure optimization is to find a series of decision-making variables to get minimal value of objective function under the circumstance of all restrictions were satisfied. So, to minimize network annual expenditure, a mathematic model is established. The restrictions may include power flow restriction, radiate restriction, voltage restriction etc.Discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm and particle swarms cooperative operative algorithm are proposed to solve distribution network planning in this paper. The identification of radial network is studied and the both algorithms are compared and studied in this paper. Particle swarms cooperative optimization algorithms overcomes DPSO'S premature convergence. The results of three sample systems justify the efficiency and feasibility of the presented methods in this paper.
