| With the development of modern industry, the extensive application of non-linear power load causes a large number of harmonic currents into electricity grids, the increase of harmonic causes the increase of power grids loss, the efficiency of power grids is reduced, and easily leads to the resistance and mistake of relay equipment moving, the normal operation of industrial production equipment is interfered. Based on the reality of a chemical plant in Handan, in this paper, the rectifier system usually used in the chemical plant was analyzed, the causes of harmonic is explained, the characteristics of the various harmonic source are analyzed; more in-depth Research is made about the commonly used methods of the harmonic governance, with the actual situation in the chemical plant, a harmonic governance system is designed and practically applied in the field. Finally, investment and the economic benefits of the governance programme are analyzed.
