Special-shaped columns are usually referred to as RC columns with sections T,+,L and Z Special-shaped columns frame structure is a characteristic structure form in China. This structure especially fits the urban multistored buildings and small tall buildings with the characteristics of no indoor edges and light weight.Many unequal-leg special-shaped column structure appeared on practical engineering because of building and structure needing .There are many researches on the equiaxial special-shaped columns, while there is little research on the unequal-leg special-shaped columns especially on the rational reinforcement arrangement and ductility of special-shaped columns with inequal legs. On the basis calculation results on bearing capacity and ductility of unequal-leg special-shaped columns, the rational reinforcement arrangement special-shaped columns with unequal legs is discussed;And analysis of the ductility of the unequal-leg special-shaped columns. The following is main jobs of this paper:Two computer programs on normal section bearing capacity and ductility of the special-shaped columns are compiled. Based on the Mx -My curves of the unequal-leg special-shaped columns under different axial compression ratios including six T-shaped sections,three L-shaped section and three+-shaped sections,the limit moment of the section in different loading angles are analyzed. The effect of reinforcement on the normal section capacity is discussed,the rational reinforcement arrangements of unequal-leg special-shaped columns are proposed ,also,the ductility of unequal-leg special-shaped columns is studied.Finally,some suggestions in practice design for special-shaped columns with unequal-leg are given.
