The power of modern society has need increasing high quality requirements, and the grid structure and size of increasingly complex.So small incidents on the city will cause major economic losses. At the same time power quality monitor (PQM) network also towarding the trend of development which emphasizes the horizontal comparison of dataes and statistical indicators analysis. The traditional PQM equipment has its inherent flaws, So it is important particularly to find a new PQM means. And the GPRS network of its security and stability can better meet the needs of industrial control. Advanced communications technologies in PQM become a necessity, this is veryone monitor data in the network transmissied over dataes into processing center, and had monitor all power grid remotly.Through the study of the subject, its aim was to design a collection of PQM data terminals, and the data collected by the pretreatment through the GPRS network to the monitoring centre, which established a GPRS-based distributed PQM System, for the power system automation and network management requirements, the paper had builded a wireless, real-time, embedded long- range, economic power quality monitoring platform. To this end the author's main focus in the following areas:1. GPRS had been applicatied in accordance with principles of its PQM system in the feasibility of the analysis, and it had verifided in the actual long-range PQM programme. With its coverage of the broad, low-cost advantages , short construction period, scalability, and equipment maintenance convenience.2. Portable data terminal used in PQM system is designed to realied the handwork balcony, this monitor (portable data terminal) mainly consists of six parallel acquisition channels, six-channel analog signals separate through the signal conditioning current of their own's, then run into six channels with serial interface A/D converter for acquisition synchronously. To completed the system performance analysis according to simulation and test in FPGA.The complex logic control of acquisition time is mainly implemented by FPGA. Improve the system integration and development progress, an increase of system stability.3. They had been measurements, such as transient value and voltage & current RMS, FFT power and wattless power, energy etc. Besides controlling the acquisition and pre-processing A/D dataes, Improve the accuracy of the system4. Embedded CPU will handle the preliminary results through the TCP / IP protocol, using GPRS network to upload monitoring centre. Monitoring Centre had completed the PQ lay the foundation for the comprehensive analysis.The design made full use of existing GPRS network communications resources, It has some reference value on the other portable low-power, small-scale monitoring of the terminal.
