Power Monitoring System Using Gprs Communication Technology Research

With the extensive application of GPRS wireless communication technology, it becomes reality to set up a low-priced , reliable , real-time wireless communication network. This article introduces a kind of electric monitoring system of communicating on the basis of GPRS networkThis system is made up of four parts: data gathering, data communication , data processing analysis and control. This system makes use of several means ,such as the SMS of GPRS network, voice channel ,etc. to realize the " four distant" function of the power system. This system can accept and record the phase voltage , electric current , active power, reactive power, power factor, the time of voltage exceeding the limit, net loss statistic of the locale equipment. It can also inspect and control the switch, alarm the exceeded voltage and electric current, calculate the net loss. This article mainly introduces the composition of the monitoring system ,GPRS communication module, communication DLL(dynamic link library) of backstage supporter interface and GPRS backstage supporter software of monitoring system .The adopted protocol of the system is a combined protocol of power meter and the wei sheng protocol and supplement protocol that self-defined. The host computer GPRS communication module can employ TCS model or MC35 model or other models. The DBMS(database management system) adopts Oracle & MS SQL Server. It has the interface of SQL , The historical database can be visited by some kind of tools such as Excel , Foxpro directly with ODBC (open database is joined ). Backstage supporter's management software is designed on Windows 9x software platform. It uses the distributed structure of Client/Server. Backstage supporter management software transfers the function of DLL (dynamic link library) to finish various kinds of data gather and control the function. It also has other functions such as authority management, data inquiry, curve drawing , typing the report and so on .With the development of automatic technology, computer technology and IT technology, the cost will be lower, the communication will be more reliable by theuse of GPRS public network to carrying on remote data transmission. The monitoring system based on GPRS will have a more widely applications.
