The negative influence of curb parking on road is inevitable, improper curb parking can cause road traffic bottleneck, traffic accidents and traffic congestion. However, off-road parking lots cannot keep up with the rapid increase of parking demand; therefore, curb parking, with its convenient and flexible characteristic, are playing an increasingly more important part in unban road traffic. This paper analyzes the influential relationship between curb parking lots and road traffic speed, travel delay and traffic capacity, qualitatively and quantitatively analyzes the impact of curb parking on traffic flow.First, with the analysis of influential factors, influential objects, influential manners and mechanisms, this paper focuses on the one-slab dual carriageway road, systemically analyzes all the factors that may influence the road traffic speed; designs and operates comprehensive and specific traffic investigation; collects and processes all the investigation data for modeling; analyzes every influential parameter under different traffic flow conditions, selects the major ones and adds them into the model from two aspects: time and space; builds traffic flow speed-volume correlation model of one-slab dual carriageway road with curb parking lots, then calibrates the model parameters with nonlinear regression method based on investigation data.Second, this paper calculates the traffic capacity loss of vehicle lane and non-motor lane before and after setting up curb parking lots on one-slab dual carriageway road under three possible circumstances.Then, this paper introduces delay to reflect the influence of curb parking lots to road traffic flow. By analyzing the microcosmic behavior of disturbed vehicles, this paper builds the deceleration delay model, acceleration delay model and car-following delay model of the disturbed vehicles on the curb parking road respectively under continuous flow circumstance and discrete flow circumstance, then calibrates the parameters of the model based on investigation data. In addition, this paper builds traffic flow speed-density model of curb parking road, calibrates the parameters with nonlinear regression method based on investigation data, and also gives an example to show the calculation process. Finally, on the basis of calculation, this paper educes the changing trend of total delay under different vehicle flow saturation, non-motor flow saturation and arrival-leaving frequency of curb parking. By setting a threshold value, this paper concludes specific qualitative criterion whether it is appropriate to set curb parking lots on the road under different service levels.
