Based on the classic theory of multi-body system dynamics, Hunan University FSAE racing car virtual prototyping is established under the ADAMS/Car-the most advanced mechanical system simulation software in the world. According to national standard, we run simulation of vehicle controllability and stability test. Then analyse how axle load, center of mass height, steering ratio, tire cornering stiffness and tire width influence the controllability and stability performance of FSAE racing car, provides the improvement advice.First, introduce content and the evaluation criterion of vehicle controllability and stability test. And introduce the multi-body system dynamics theory,approach the analysis mechanism of ADAMS. Then built up the FSAE racing car dynamics model. In the establishment process, obtains parameter through each method.In this paper, uses the different control method, defines the corresponding controlled variable, establish the control file and the simulation test condition, and make the movement of dynamics vehicle according to the country standard. Regarding the driver-vehicle-road system experiment, we uses the closed-loop control method which ADAMS provides, imitates the driver operation which adopts the feedback from vehicle.It is the key point to analyse how each test results diffs when axle load, center of mass height, steering ratio, tire cornering stiffness and tire width changed.The whole research work concentrates on the exploration and application of virtual design and analysis. Finally we get the controllability and stability performace for FSAE racing car.
