Information is the inevitable trend of the traditional manufacturing industries. Into the 21 st century, the traditional manufacturing industries speed up the process of information. Portal cranes, as a typical rotating type of crane, are used widely at the port, shipside for the mechanized loading and unloading cargo terminals, the ship construction and installation on the shipyards, the large-scale hydropower station site in dam construction project. It has a great significance for improving labor productivity and the production process mechanization.The research's background is the project 'portal crane four-bar linkage structure analysis system', which is cooperated by Zhejiang University and Shanghai Port Machinery Plant. The theme of this dissertation is the portal crane four-bar linkage structure. It has an introduction to the research and application for the special FEA system of portal crane four-bar linkage structure and tries to solve the following engineering issues:(1)The traditional manual analysis process, using the general FAE software, is very cumbersome and inefficient.(2) The traditional manual analysis process, using the general FAE software, doesn't checking the strength, fatigue, entire stability, local stability according to the national design rules of GB3811, and increases the engineering security risks.(3) The traditional manual analysis process, using the general FAE software, is difficult to realize the uniform data archive management, and can't provide reference data for the next analysis.Based on a great deal of domestic and international documents, considering on the traditional manual analysis processes, making reference to the latest crane design rules, the dissertation systemically represents the background and the realization of the special FEA system of the portal crane four-bar linkage structure.(1)Special FEA system frame construction with Ansys and Nastran.(2)Research on the Nastran FEA solver, specially the data input format and the structure of the input and output files.(3)Research on the CBEAM element like element coordinate system, element stiffness matrix and the inner element force output related properties.(4)The FEA analyses theory of the portal crane four-bar linkage structure.(5)The realization and application of the special FEA system of the portal crane four-bar linkage structure.
